Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!!
Rather than post about all of the glories of turkey and stuffing, let's talk about giving thanks, for shelter. Safe and stable housing is essential to our well-being, yet not everyone has access to this basic need. This holiday season, let's give thanks by giving back to our community.
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Hearth Shares launch dinner at Brasserie Jo. Hearth Shares is a fundraising platform that works with local restaurants and their diners (a.k.a you and me) to support housing initiatives for the homeless. In Boston, Hearth Shares supports Friends of Boston's Homeless and Hearth Inc. Thanks to a pledge by Citizen's Bank to underwrite all operating costs and PR from Marlo Marketing, 100% of donations go directly to these organizations and in-turn, provide housing, comfort and stability for Boston's most vulnerable residents.
How can I participate? Easy!
1) Visit a participating restaurant (full list of Boston restaurants below) between now and December 25th.
2) Have a great meal.
3) Share $1 (or more) at bottom line of your check with HearthShares.
4) Spread the word! Use the #sharingseason hashtag on social media. Share this blog post. Tell your friends, family and co-workers.
