Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!!
Rather than post about all of the glories of turkey and stuffing, let's talk about giving thanks, for shelter. Safe and stable housing is essential to our well-being, yet not everyone has access to this basic need. This holiday season, let's give thanks by giving back to our community.
On Saturday I went to Fairsted Kitchen in Brookline's Washington Square for brunch with a few friends. It was my first visit to Fairsted, though I had been curious about it for some time. Fairsted Kitchen is a relatively new entrant to the Boston area restaurant scene. It opened in 2013 and has been quietly growing a loyal following since. And for good reason.
My sister-in-law was in town this weekend and so we barely spent any time at home. We went out to eat on several occasions and had some great meals. I'm still full and I didn't get much cooking done so am sharing a restaurant review instead of a recipe today.
I am writing from the warm, cozy interior of a coffee shop in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Outside freezing rain is pouring down and making for a dreary, dreary day. Fortunately the first half of the week was filled with that beautiful, golden, autumnal weather as evidenced above.
Instead of a recipe post today I wanted to try something new. I follow dozens of blogs in the food/beverage/style/fashion space and they serve as a great source of motivation and inspiration for my blog and everyday life. In this new feature I'll be sharing a handful of my favorite discoveries from the week. Drum roll please!
